Aims and Values

At Drayton Park Primary School our motto is ‘Every Child, Every Chance, Every Day'. This encapsulates our aims that all of our children will enjoy and value their education, achieve well and be well prepared for secondary education by the time they leave us at the end of Year 6.

The ability to read widely, think critically, and communicate effectively is essential. We know that an appreciation for lifelong learning and a love of reading is critical to a child’s education. For this reason our curriculum is literacy-based with strong links between the different subject areas. Feedback is effectively shared with the children so they know how well they are doing and what their next step might be. We aspire to have no child left behind. For this reason children’s work is regularly monitored and focused, small group interventions are used to support children to catch up quickly.

The academic standards that the children reach are very important to us and we are very proud of their achievement and progress. However, we also have high expectations that they will listen, show good manners, kindness and consideration to others in everything that they do in school. We focus on the Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural development of all pupils and promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, liberty, respect and tolerance through a regular variety of assemblies and experiences throughout the school year. We encourage all members of our learning community to meet and support our high expectations.
