Bletchley Schools Athletics festival at SHLA
On the 25th May, a group of children from years 3, 4, 5 & 6 were selected to participate in an Athletics competition. The competition consisted of many different events; Javelin, Long jump, triple jump, track races and then relays. Overall the team done a great job and were very pleased with themselves. It really was a great chance to show our skills and practise before Stantonbury.

Year 5 & 6 Rounder festival at SHLA
On Thursday 18th May a handful of children in year 5 & 6 engaged in a rounders festival at Sir Herbert Leon Academy. The selected children performed excellently and the skills shown were amazing. Overall we finished in joint 2nd place and it was a really enjoyable event. ( Match report by Saarah)
Drayton Park 4 - 5 Broughton Fields
A super performance from the year 5 & 6 boys football team but they were unfortunately on the end of a disappointing result against a very strong team. Well done to all involved who showed a fantastic attitude throughout and lets try and finish the football season on a high, when we host Jubilee Wood Primary School on Tuesday 23rd May.
Drayton Park 1 -0 Caroline Haslett
A fantastic team effort from Drayton Park who secured an impressive 1-0 win against very strong opposition. Drayton Park had many strong opportunities to score early on in the game but managed to defend superbly throughout. A huge well done to all involved.
Summer Korfball League
A selected few children in year 5 and 6 took part in a korfball league at Knowles Primary School. Unfortunately we only managed to finish in 4th place yet the attitude and team work we showed was stunning. A special mention to Archie Wilshere who was amazing at scoring points. Drayton Park 5 -2 Knowles Primary
On Tuesday 21st march Drayton Park school played against Knowles Primary School. In the opening minutes Drayton Park scored through Harri. A few moments later Drayton Park scored again making it 2-0 at half time. The second half begun brightly and Drayton went 3 goals up before Knowles scored a fire cracker past our goalkeeper, before getting another back by scoring a penalty. Drayton Park then replied with 2 more goals. The Match ended 5-2 and it was a really enjoyable game to be part of.

Drayton Park 1-1 Falconhurst
On Thursday 16th march Drayton Park school had a fixture against Falconhurst Primary School. Drayton Park had gone down 1-0 in the first few minutes with an amazing goal scored early in the game. During the second half, we had a few substitutes that came on to make a huge difference. As soon as the subs were made the team knew what to do. Maheer, the only year 5 in the team on this day made a run down the wing before passing into Dom who scored a great goal making it 1-1 on the day. Whilst we got back into the game Falconhurst continued to cause our defence problems but we were saved again and again by Joshua who was outstanding in goal. It was a great performance and a solid result against a very good team.

On Thursday 2nd March Drayton Park took over 8 students to participate in some competitive Korfball fixtures at Bletchley College. With the group, high in confidence after some strong recent performances, they struggled to get their passing game going which resulted in some disappointing results against strong opposition. The students however showed a positive attitude throughout and thus managed to gain great knowledge, gaining some invaluable experience in competing against some of the best Korfball players in Milton Keynes. Well done to everyone involved!
Drayton Park 5- 1 Moorlands
Another great performance and result for Drayton Park Year 5 & 6 boys football team as they produced an outstanding performance to beat Moorlands by 5 goals to 1. A huge well done to Jacob Bird who scored his first school goal on his first school team appearance. The boys are now going into a tough run of fixtures trying to keep their unbeaten record going.
Korfball Fixtures at Bletchley College
Once again a Korfball team was selected to participate in our third league fixture on the 1st December. We all tried our best because we had tough opponents and we wanted to come back for the finals. This match was held at Bletchley College. We were all exhilarated as we went up against two other competitive schools. The tournament ended at 5:30 which meant the team had to work very hard for a long period of time. The team are now desperate to have made the Grand Finale, well done to everyone involved. Healthy school’s week 2016
On the week beginning 7th November all students and staff took part in Healthy Schools Week 2016. This week gave students the opportunity to learn about the importance of a Healthy & Active lifestyle.
Students were given the opportunity to take part in a range of sports some of which were completely new to them. Sessions including Karate, Street dance, fruit tasting and fitness circuits. Students got to experience tasting new fruits and smoothies which were put together by our wonderful catering team. On the final day of Healthy Schools week, the students dressed in blue to celebrate their love for water.
Year 6 Girls football
On Thursday 17th November Year 6 girls had their first football fixture against Caroline Haslett Primary School. We had so much fun and for all the girls it was the first time they have ever played in a competitive football game. Caroline Haslett were real strong opponents and unfortunately we lost 5-0. We were all proud of our efforts and learnt a lot from the game, hopefully we will get a win in our next game. (Match report by Sophie Thomas.)
Year 5 & 6 Basketball Festival
On Wednesday 10th November 5 students took part in a Basketball Festival at Sir Herbert Leon Academy. This was the first competitive basketball event the students have competed in and the selected students managed to finish in a very respectable position overall. Well done to everybody involved.
Cross Country Championships at Stantonbury
On Saturday 5th November Drayton Park took 18 students over to Stantonbury to compete in the Milton Keynes Schools X country competition. With the weather being close to freezing the competitors done a fantastic job of keeping themselves warm throughout the morning. Although on the day we finished without any medals the day was a huge success and the competitors are already looking forward to next years competition. Well done to all of the competitors below for participating.

Korfball Competition at Bletchley College
We did it again! The Korfball team went over to Bletchley College on the 3rd of November for some difficult matches. Being the first to arrive at the venue, we were able to get in some practise before it all started. The entire team were ready for action some were nervous as it was their first opportunity to play a competitive Korfball match. We participated against two other schools beating the first by two points. The next school we played were older than us so we were a little worried but still confident after our first win. We left with four points, all of us feeling extremely proud and looking forward to the next competition.

Bletchley Schools Cross Country Competition
With the Cross Country season in full swing, 27 selected students were taken across to Sir Herbert Leon Academy to compete in the Bletchley Schools Cross Country competition. The selected competitors were a real credit to Drayton Park, all showing positive attitudes throughout whilst showing off their long distance running ability. A huge congratulations to Joanna Struk for finishing first in the Junior Girls event. The team are now all feeling a lot more confident going into the Cross Country Championships at Stantonbury School on Saturday 5th November.
The Drayton Park Badminton team went to Leon for a Badminton competition on Wednesday 28th September. We were all excited to participate but there were a few who were nervous but ended up having a fantastic time! We played against other schools from Milton Keynes and it was a very close game of Badminton. After completing all the matches we were all exhilarated to find out the overall winner. After all the hoping, Drayton Park finished joint first place. We scored an amazing 22 points! The entire team enjoyed this wonderful experience and hope to be entered into the grand finals to find out the real winner. As well as this, we want to experience another amazing game of Badminton.
